As revealed in the article "Never mind predatory publishers… what about ‘grey’ publishers?", the Malaysian government has decided to no longer compensate APC authors who publish their articles in journals belonging to MDPI, Frontiers, and Hindawi publishers. Malaysia is now joined by the governments of China, Poland, France, and Spain, but the governments of Britain, the United States, Israel, and Australia remain indifferent.
